Is an occasional series of emails in which Pastor Woods-Barrant briefly expounds on scriptural verses explaining their relevance for Twenty-First century Christian disciples of Jesus Christ.
Sermons
Each sermon is anchored in a scriptural passage and is designed to teach the hearer by expounding on those scriptures and identifying the link between the scriptural context and present-day life events, and/or circumstances enabling the hearer to adhere to Jesus’ teachings.

I approach my preaching in a similar fashion as I do my teaching because I am a Christian educator at heart.
I want those who hear one of my sermons, or read one of my sermons, or read one of my “Just Thinking” commentaries to understand scripture more fully.
I want hearers and readers to understand that scripture had an impact on the communities with which they were originally shared, and they continued to have an impact on persons throughout history including the present. Some mistakenly think that God’s Holy Word is dead but if you take the time to listen to the sermons and read my scripture commentary you will know that God is very much alive and active in the lives of present-day people.
I hope that after hearing and reading what I offer for your spiritual consumption, that you will want to experience more and will come worship with us at John Wesley.
