Hello John Wesley members and friends,
I wanted to share my thoughts on Mark 15:42-43. This scripture tells you that it was Preparation Day which is your reminder that preparation should be a part of your relationship with Christ and should not be neglected. Very important things occur when you allow time for preparation, especially God’s preparation; without preparation it is impossible to do what it is that God is calling you to do. Secondly, Joseph of Arimathea, didn’t allow his position (he was a member of the Sanhedrin in Arimathea) to keep him from doing what God had prepared him to do. You see, Joseph didn’t care who might think it inappropriate, even scandalous for a member of any Sanhedrin Council to ask for the body of Jesus, the one who was crucified as an enemy of the Jewish religion. Yet, Joseph did what he was prepared by God to do and boldly went to Pilate to ask for Jesus’ body. Like Joseph of Arimathea we each must cast aside our fears and doubts and do what God says do, when God says do it, trusting that we have been adequately prepared by God and thus we will receive God’s peace.
Blessings,
