Hello John Wesley members and friends,
I know you didn’t expect to hear from me again today but I had another thought I wanted to share.
John 3:16 and Isaiah 58:6-8 ~ these two scriptures have been swirling around in my head. I’ve been thinking that God blessed us with Jesus because of God’s incredible love for us. In return, all God wants from us is that we show God our love for Him by demonstrating care for our fellow humans. Think about it, that is so little to do given how much God has done for us. The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. knew this truth and dedicated his life to fighting for racial, social, and economic justice for all. You need not be a Dr. King but you too must do something to demonstrate to God that you understand and appreciate the magnitude of God’s love for you - God sent Jesus into this world for you and me. You need to show God your love by finding your way to serve God and humanity, there are many ways to so including one we talked about in Sunday School yesterday. Sis. Ethel shared a website that is devoted to those persecuted for their Christian faith in various parts of the world. Some Christians are good at fasts that require denying themselves food which is important to do but sometimes God also wants you out of your comfort zone and wants you to fast by engaging in service to others in God’s creation.
Just Thinking,
