Hello John Wesley members and friends,
I wanted to briefly share with you my thoughts on Psalm 24:3-5. The analogy of ascending the mountain so aptly represents our relationship with the Most High God. Without a practical and engaging relationship with God, we are nothing and can do nothing. But when we are singularly intertwined with God and God's Spirit; literally, the sky is the limit. It is a necessary pre-condition that we have this type of relationship with our God in order to be able to ascend the mountain or to approach God anywhere. A pure and honest heart are necessary for achieving the kind of relationship with God where you hear God's still small voice over the thoughts and shouts implanted by Satan and his fiends. This is a reference to "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis several of us read and discussed last weekend but the comment stands even if you haven't read this 85 page book, though I think you would enjoy it, if you did. Lastly, to be rewarded and vindicated by God doesn't mean that you never struggle but instead means that God will hold you and love you, through all your struggles.
Just Thinking,
